- Diagnosis
- Medium pith, solid and heterocellular, with ducts. Primary
xylem endarch and mesarch. Secondary xylem homoxylic, with growth
rings. Araucarian radial pitting, uniseriate to triseriate. Xylem rays generally
uniseriate, rarely partly biseriate, medium (1–12 cells high).
Araucarioid cross-fields showing 2–5 unordered oculipores. Tangential
pitting on the tracheids present.
