Diagnosis
Irregularly monosaccate or unequally bisaccate pollen with a prominent trilete mark. Trilete mark with distinct, sinuous, raised lips extending almost to the equator. Corpus circular to elliptical, distal surface finely infrapunctate. One saccus generally present, slightly inflated and eccentrically developed in polar view; saccus thinner in the equatorial region and occasionally this equatorial connection is absent giving the grain a bisaccate appearance. Distal surface of saccus densely infrarugulate, with individual elements radially aligned. Proximal surface of the corpus and saccus covered by a coarsely reticulate ektexine.
