- Frond segments at least tripinnate; antepenultimate rachis with a bar-shaped, slightly curved xylem strand having slightly curved lateral ends of xylem; four endarch protoxylem strands on concave side: two situated on lateral ends, and two close to lateral ends of xylem strand; penultimate rachis with xylem strand wide, adaxially C-shaped with four protoxylem strands present on adaxial side where two endarch protoxylems groups are situated on lateral ends and two close to lateral ends of xylem strand, secretory cells/cavity spread out close to outer part of cortex similar to those secretory cells/cavity from antepenultimate rachis; pinnules, lanceolate, slightly flared, sporangia pyriform annulate regularly grouped into round or oval sori, up to 18 sori per pinnule, with very short and thick pedicel, having one sporangial cell layer; four types of cells distinguished in sporangium:
(1) thick-walled cells of an incomplete horizontally oblique annulus, (2) thin-walled cells of stomium, (3) single apical cell and (4) ordinary cells; trilete subtriangular microspores with strongly concave amb. The sculpture is microgranulate, microrugulate to reticulate sculpture. Labrum-like thickening along the rays of the trilete mark often developed.
