Diagnosis
Cuticle hypostomatic, cells of upper surface of lamina undifferentiated into vein and mesh areas, cells polygonal to variously shaped, irregularly arranged, 20-30 x 10-20 um in size; anticlinal walls straight to arched, 5 um wide, surface walls papillate, each cell showing numerous small papillae measuring 1-2.5 um in diameter; unicellular trichome bases occasionally present, measuring 12.5-17.5 x 10-15 um in diameter; cells of lower surface of lamina similar to those of upper surface, 15-30 x 12.5-15 um in size, anticlinal walls 2.5-5 um wide, surface walls papillate, each cell showing numerous small papillae measuring 1-2.5 um in diameter; unicellular trichome bases of same dimensions as on upper surface occasionally present; stomata ovai, anomocytic, superficial, 20 x 10-15 um in size, irregular in distibution and orientation, guard cells kidney shaped, 20 x 5 um in size, poral wall of guard cell apparently cutinised, stomatal slit biconvex, 15-20 x 0.5-5 um in size, stomatal index varying from 6.2 to 8.4.
