- Descr.
- Frond dichotomously divided ; each branch with pinnae given off at an acute angle ; the laminae of the pinnae more or less deeply dissected into segments but never right to the rachis. Veins given off at an acute angle
from the rachis, one or two, one of which usually divides, to each segment.
Cuticle of medium thickness; epidermal cells rectangular, more elongate over
the veins. Walls of cells straight. Papillae present one to each cell; stomata
on both surfaces evenly distributed. Cuticle of guard cells thin. Two subsidiary cells—lateral—only, occasionally divided transversely.
