- Diagnosis
 
- Aachenia cone scales. Average length 31 mm, maximum length 36.5 mm, average width in the contact zone of proximal part and apophysis 13 mm, maximum width 15 mm. Basal stalk-shaped part up to 4 mm wide near its base, distally widened in a trumpet-like fashion. Apophysis up to 7 mm wide half way between its base and tip. Tip more or less rounded with a fine tooth up to 2 mm long.
