Diagnosis
Trifoliate spore, inner layer smooth, middle layer forms a polygonal reticulation, polygons 4-, 5- and 6-sided. Muri high, membraneous basal width approximately 5 um, tapering sharply to 1 to 2 um. The middle layer within the lumina ranges from psilate to sparsely striate with fine, crenulate, parallel ribs, 0.5-1.5 um wide and 0.5-1 um high. Generally the ribbing is most pronounced proximally, close to the trifolium. Both the ribs and the higher muri extend onto the lower parts of the trifolium. Towards the margin, an otherwise granular trifolium surface grades into a fine reticulation, with muri 0.25-0.5 um in width and lumina 2-4 um in diameter.
