Margaretbarromyces dictyosporus
Diagnosis
Ascoma uniloculate, solitary, erumpent through periderm, pyriform, 390 mm diam, 420 mm in height. Neck short, tapering to ostiole 60 mm diam. Ascostroma pseudoparenchymatous and two layered, inner layer stratified and compressed, up to 11 cells wide; outer layer irregular and thickened around ostiole. Peridial hyphae septate, highly branched. Asci elongate, attachment basal. Ascospores uniseriate-biseriate, multicellular, unconstricted, up to 24 times asymmetrically dictyoseptate, 55–90 mm x 7–21 mm.
