- Diagnosis
- Pores circular and angular, usually solitary, sometimes 2-5 in multiple in radial series and coupled. Perforation plates steeply inclined and scalariform with 25 110 bars. Intervessel pitting scalariform or elliptical. Wood parenchyma apotracheal and diffuse. Ray heterogeneous types I and II A of Kribs, usually bi- to quadriseriate, often uniseriate more than 20 cells high or 700 um in height. Multiseriate rays often bearing high uniseriate margins. Two to five rays often fused with each other at uniseriate margins and become the fused ray which is up to ca. 5000 um in height. Ray-vessel pits scalariform or horizontally elongated elliptical.
