Diagnosis
Pollen grain spheroidal, tricolporoidate or tricolpate, subprolate, crassimarginate. Sexine slightly thicker than nexine, nexine thickened round the colpi at the pole (mesocolpial sexine). Mesocolpial sexine projection tapering towards the poles.
