- Diagnosis
 
- Plant with main axis and two orders of branches. Main axis erect, bearing helically attached firstand second-order branches, with one appendage at the base of each lateral branch. Sterile appendages alternately arranged on the second-order branch, dichotomizing up to five times. Fertile appendages alternately inserted on second-order branches, composed of sporangia and the supporting axial system, a pair of erect sporangia at each terminal. A dense terminal branching system is attached at the end of all branches.
