- Diagnosis
- Septate pith composed of parenchyma cells and smaller cells containing dark contents. Septa composed of horizontally elongated parenchyma cells, displaying an anastomosing pattern. Mesarch primary xylem. Pycnoxylic secondary xylem with tracheids that have araucarian pits in the radial walls. Cross-fields with “windowlike” (=fenestriform) pits.
