- Diagnosis
 
- Plant ramified; leaves simple, alternate and petiolate; petioles forming broad stipular wings; leaf margins entire and unlobed; primary venation basal acrodromous; secondary venation brochidodromous; spacing between secondary veins increasing toward the base and their angle smoothly decreasing toward the base; intersecondary veins strong; tertiary veins mixed opposite/alternate percurrent, their course straight, forming a uniform, obtuse angle to the primaries; quaternary veins opposite percurrent; marginal ultimate venation looped; flowers in terminal racemes, subtended by a bract, hypogynous; gynoecium eusyncarpous, with six carpels arranged in a whorl.
