- Wood diffuse-porous. Vessels smalI, mostly solitary, perforation plates exclusively scalariform with many bars (>50), intervessel pits alternate to scalariform. Imperforate tracheal elements fiber-tracheids. Axial parenchyma diffuse. Rays abundant and occupying a large proportion of the wood (> 50%), uniseriate to multiseriate, homocellular, composed of all upright cells.
