- Diagnosis
- Leaves narrowly elliptical, 5.3 cm long and 1.5 cm in the lower third, asymmetrical, with a wedge-shaped base descending onto the petiole and a
short, pointed apex; margin finely serrate (except for the lower part), with teeth bent to the sides or, most often, upward. Venation pinnate, 16–17 pairs of thin secondary veins arranged alternately on a thick midrib, the angle of their departure almost perpendicular, as they move away from the midrib, they bend quite sharply upward and, at the leaf margin, stretch almost parallel to the axis, connected to each other by a series of transverse tertiary veins; at the teeth they end in short veinlets extending from the loops of the secondary veins. Single short intermediate veins present. Higher-order
venation unknown.
