- Growth ring border distinct, transition
from earlywood to latewood gradual, no resin canal,
axial parenchyma common, tracheids mostly circular,
intercellular spaces common, rays uniseriate, ray height
3–15 (1–34) cells, end walls of axial parenchyma cells
smooth and nodular, small tracheidal pitting common
in tangential section, cross-field pits cupressoid and 1–2
pits per cross-field, tracheidal pitting uniseriate in radial
section.
