    Lindley & Hutton (l.c. 1834, p.75) stated that this specimen originated from the Newcastle coal-field, but Hawse (1888: 50) & Kidston (1891: 368) considered that the matrix more closely resembled that of fossils from Granton, near Edinburgh.
