- Gyrogonites suboblate to peroblate ellipsoidal, with longest polar axis ranging from about 425kp to 625su, 500pt being the most common, and largest equatorial diameter ranging from 500,t to 800[t, 700it being the most common. Surface sculpture consisting of eight to eleven ridges, starting around the basal opening and each almost immediately dividing into two ridges. Units ascend vertically, and divided ridges join in a broad curve at or near the periphery of the summit. Summit flattened and smooth, with short neck or prominent collar surrounding the summit opening. Basal and summit openings funnel-shaped, with larger diameter to the exterior; basal plate thin, almost three times as wide as thick, in outer portion of basal opening. Gyrogonite wall from 84p. to 140p in thickness, concentrically laminated, uniformly fused, with no evidence of division into vertical units.
