- Diagnosis
- Shoot bears whorls of three leaves bordered by
unicellular hairs. Internode cuticle 10–20 μm thick. The stomatal
apparatuses have an average diameter of 107 μm and are arranged in
well-defined rows (6–7 per linear mm). They bear four subsidiary
cells (rarely five), separated into lateral and polar cells, each bearing
one outer papilla. Stomatal apparatuses oriented along the main axes
of the segments. Stomatal apparatuses with outer papillae on
subsidiary cells. Papillae hemispherical, small, arising from epidermal
cells. Trichomes on the leaf margins.
