Leaves bilobed, cuneate, with long petiole. Lamina is divided on ⅓—½ of length into two parts. Apical lamina margin entire, with several shallow incisions. Leaves amphistomatic. Anticlinal cell walls straight or sinuous. Periclinal cell walls of upper epidermis smooth or with one to several round cuticular thickenings. Stomata of upper epidermis rare. Subsidiary cells with small proximal papillae not covering stomatal pit. Occasionally trichome bases occur. Periclinal cell walls of lower epidermis usually with one to several large papillae, often joined. Subsidiary cells of stomata of lower epidermis with proximal papillae partly or entirely covering stomatal pit, or, rarely, not covering it.
