- Diagnosis
- Leaves 3—6 mm wide, with four to six veins per width in the median part of the leaf. Leaves hypostomatic
or amphistomatic with occasional stomata on the upper epidermis. Stomata on the lower epidermis
arranged in rows which sometimes are assembled in bands. Anticlinal cell walls straight, periclinal ones with a
wart, in stomatal rows with a wart or a papilla. Stomata oriented longitudinally or obliquely, more seldom irregularly.
Subsidiary cells more cutinized than ordinary cells. Most subsidiary cells exhibiting a proximal papilla.
