- Secondary xylem of the morphogenus Ornoxylon
FELIX emend. SÜSS with a wood structure
of stem, growth zones and ring-porousness indistinct,
vessels mostly solitary, circular, diameter
on an average 275 μm, latewood vessels
arranged in short radial rows or small groups,
length of vessel members on an average of
430 μm, perforations plates simple, intervessel
pits minute and narrow arranged, ground tissues
of the wood libriform fibres, axial parenchyma
paratracheal vasicentrically, in one up to
several rows around the vessels, rays 1–3 cells
wide and 1–15 cells high, middle cells in tangential
view circular.
