- Growth ring boundaries distinct, vessel
diffuse, solitary and in radial multiples of up to 4 or
more in general, vessel clusters common, vessel frequency
> 100 per mm2, helical thickenings presents,
perforation plates simple, axial parenchyma scanty
paratracheal, rays 1– 6-seriate, broad rays 4 –10-(4 – 5
in general)-seriate, oil cells relatively common, associated
with ray parenchyma, axial parenchyma and
among fibers, heterocellular rays with body ray-cells
all procumbent, and one to four square or upright
marginal cells also with oil cells flattened and conspicuously
wider inside and rounded to outside of the rays,
crystals common in axial parenchyma cells.
