Diagnosis
Growth ring boundaries barely distinct. Vessels arranged in tangential bands in a festooned pattern. Simple perforation plates. Axial parenchyma scalariform, unilateral associated to the abaxial side of the vessel bands. Rays of two types: multiseriate wide rays and uniseriate rays. Alternate intervessel pitting.
