- Diagnosis
- Growth rings are indistinct; wood is
diffuse porous; vessels are solitary combined with
a few short radial multiples; perforation plates
simple; intervessel pitting alternate; polygonal
and medium to large; vessel-ray parenchyma pits
mainly circular with reduced borders, axial parenchyma
apotracheal diffuse, scanty paratracheal to
vasicentric, and slightly aliform, rays heterocellular,
mostly uniseriate and very rarely biseriate, non
septate fibers, thin to thick walled, large solitary
rhomboidal crystals very abundant in body and
upright ray cells.
