Leaves toothed, hypostomatic. Teeth nonglandular. Stomata paracytic with small, sunken guard cells associated with pronounced cuticular development between guard cells and overarching subsidiary cells. Stomatal openings on outer cuticular surface slitlike. Resin bodies present.
