- Diagnosis
- Endocarp one seeded, bisymmetrical, D-shaped in lateral view, pyriform in dorsiventral view. Fruit individual. Attachment basidorsal. Ventral margin straight. Style apical on the ventral margin. Endocarp thick, stony and rugose. Germination valve occupying the upper two thirds of the length and half the width of the dorsal margin. Seed curved around a distinct internal process airsing at about one third of the length of the endocarp from the apex, and extending about one third of the distance across the endocarp from the ventral margin. Lower lobe of the seed about three times larger than the upper lobe. Position of the internal process represented externally by a large, deep, distinct depression situated near the ventral margin, in the apical third of the endocarp.
